thanksgiving star garland

This will be my dressers first Christmas in our home.
I am excited by the idea of some festive decorating.
(not yet started...susan! )
Not only is it useful for hiding stuff
but great for displaying recent makes.
This was always my plan for these stars
as I know the recipient has a dresser
and I think I know what she likes.
In fact these stars were rehomed yesterday
and now live with my friend Lisa
whom I call one of my fabric sponsors
because she ALWAYS has a bag of vintage goodies for me.

Life is a precious thing so get living.
Friends are a special thing so get giving.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all

  1. A lovely starry garland!! (I know you too well!) And I have a similar lemon squeezer too! Your dresser looks pretty dressed for Christmas!

  2. So pretty, and I want a dresser. First I need a house that can fit one in though.

  3. A beautiful gift and gorgeous dresser! Love all your pretty things on display!

  4. Lovely garland! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Love!!!! Deborah xoxo

  5. The stars look good on your dresser but they are going to look better on mine!!
Thank you for my stars, I love them a lot.
    Love the little rhyme too.

  6. Your Dresser looks so lovely Clare . I'm sure your friend will be thrilled with the sweet quilted stars.
Love the Clare quote too....such great advice.

  7. a quilted garland! I so often seen fabric garlands, but not quilted. Great thinking! It turned out lovely, as usual.

  8. Ho, ho, ho! I love your stars and your little giving ditty! In your far away land that piece of furniture is called a dresser, and in my far away land, it is called a cabinet. Tis a grand garland Clare....giver of all good things!

  9. Well how can I follow Mary! I call it a dresser too and it looks beautiful with a star garland - hope you are making one for yourself!

  10. Lovely! How did you attach the string to the back? Can you show a pic?
