When Mary gave a shout for us to share our own favourite quilts
how could I resist?
My favourite quilt was made with a multitude of fabrics
that I scoured the earth for...nothing special.
Remember
it's not what you have but what you do with it!

I am yet to beat my 'summer of love' quilt.
This quilt was a labour of love.
It was hand pieced before I 'joined' the online quilt world
I was very much alone for a long time.
I think the beauty in this quilt comes from the
crazy mix of patterns and colours
which look haphazard but were all chosen to balance each other,
the beauty also comes from a mind not addled by online pressures.
I know we've all seen this quilt before
but I dont mind rolling it out again
as long as you dont!
Why not join in Marys link party
with your fav?
It is gorgeous. I can see why you love it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind at all! In fact it's wonderful to see Summer Of Love again! It's a very special and beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteHi Clare! I love your quilt! Everything mixed and fits so beautifully! x Teje
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt, perfect piecing and quilting. Beautiful colors!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you showed this lovely quilt .I've been making hexagon stars and had my doubts about the dark fabrics in some of them. Now I shall use them with confidence!
ReplyDeleteVery apt comments about sewing alone, but then online community really does bring pressure and expectations! Your quilt is beautiful.

I've loved this quilt since the first time I saw it on here. It's everything a traditional quilt *should* be. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is truly a beautiful quilt Clare, I love the many different colours and fabrics which you have made work together in a fresh and spontaneous way, even though you must have carefully thought about the placing of them - it is one I love to see when i visit your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! My favorite quilt hands down! You made a beauty here...inspired. Clare, you truly are an artist. I love the way you put fabrics and colors together. There are so many great quilts...made by Clare!
ReplyDeleteI can understand that this is your favorite quilt. The scrapy look is lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is stunning, beautiful and we all know how much hard has been put into making of it! Very very nice job! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it! And it's happy to see it on your bed =)
ReplyDeleteOh Clare! This is my favorite quilt hands down! You are the queen of EPP!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beauty! Hand sewn too, amazing. I always feel like a 'proper' quilter when I hand sew a quilt, like the good old days when random scraps made something beautiful. Even though I adore my machine!! It's definitely a different feeling when you paper piece. Gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous... a really WOW! quilt!
ReplyDeleteTruly scrummy quilt, looks good in photos and even more amazing in real life!! Just like us!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better. I now have dreaded lurgy and feel horrid!
Lisa x
