liberty shell

Some days are best suited for pattern cutting....

Today was such a day...

*I have made two templates.
One which is the final 5 1/2 inch clamshell.
And one which has a 1/2 inch allowance
for turning under.
I figured I should start as I mean to go on,
with accuracy.

  3. This is a lovely old pattern. I still have my Nans metal templates, which include clamshell. I look forward to seeing this work progressing.

  5. Wowsers, this is liberty porn you do realise!
I do love a girl who keeps all scraps no matter how small, good name for a blog that. I made my precious scraps into a small purse using 1/2 inch hexagons, just a suggestion, should you want a further project. Lol.
I wait with bated breath to see the blossoming of the beautious blanket......ok now I am just waffling.

  7. This is going to be just gorgeous, I know it! Such lovely Liberty fabrics you have chosen. I am a fan of Barbara Brackman's blog too as am interested in all the history behind the patterns, etc. Am trying out new patterns at the moment and seeing your Clamshell stuff has given me an idea ...!! xCathy
